COLOR BLOCK MIDCENTURY RESIDENCE

I think of spring Green and tangerine with this Hollywood residence. The client allowed me the freedom to create a midcentury inspired residence that respected the bones of his 1940’s home. I spliced two colors in the living room rug, and created an asymmetrical balanced shelving unit for the back wall.

The tangerine midcentury dining room and kitchen was inspired to work with artwork from artist, Keith Haring. The Heywood Wakefield dining table was stained a dark walnut to coordinate with the color scheme and weight the room. It’s fresh, upbeat, and makes you smile when you enter the room.

In the bedroom, I created wings on either side of the headboard for the drapes to hang behind. I matched the vertical pattern in the drapes with my custom designed shoji screens.

The result was fresh, polished and fun.
